A guilty pleasure of mine is surfing the web searching for ‘miracle’ gardening products. Rock n roll, I know. The more outlandish the claim, the greater my brow furrows—I love it. I’ve lost count of how many online snake oil salesmen I’ve seen slithering across sites, purporting to promise “revolutionary” results with nothing more than overpriced, ordinary goods. In many cases, one only needs to scroll as far as the comments section to see the holes in these claims.

So, when I saw that Miracle-Gro promises to make your garden plants “twice as big”, my spidey senses began to tingle. I was intrigued and readied myself for disappointment. But, to my utter amazement, £16.20 was well spent…

What’s in the box

The number one selling plant food in the UK comes in a starter kit that’s ready to use straight away. Once inside, you’ll find a garden feeder, a 16 fl. oz. bottle of Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food, and a dosing spoon, making it easy to feed your plants with a watering can. In fairness to Miracle-Gro, this box comes jam-packed with gardening goodies, and the instructions couldn’t be clearer.

Pricing

When it comes to price, the Miracle-Gro Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food weighs in at £16.20 on Amazon, which is mightily good for a product that has so much going on under the surface. If you’re working to a really tight budget, you don’t have to buy it as part of a kit either, which should shave off a few quid.

The price is slightly higher than Garten Glück Plant Food Spray and is around the same cost as Rocket Gro — but I’d argue it’s much better than either of these competitors. In terms of cons, the only real downside is that the package only includes 8 ounces of plant food; however, this is still a great price for what you get and a little goes a long way with this concentrated formula.

Bigger and better plants

Now the juicy stuff — that double bubble growing claim. Believe it or not, it’s true: it really does make your flora grow. The unique formula includes ten micronutrients that are designed to produce bountiful, glorious plants and flowers. I tested it out on my raised beds and a portion of weather-beaten azaleas — within two weeks, they were more vibrant, lively, and, surprisingly, larger! You can also use it on vegetables, trees, shrubs, and houseplants, which I’ll definitely try in the future.

How to use it

The instructions for use are easy to follow and the results are visible right in front of your eyes. Simply dissolve the plant food in water and apply it using a watering can or a Miracle-Gro hose-end feeder. The plant food is safe for use in areas where children and pets have access, and is guaranteed to not burn when used as directed. I recommend feeding plants every two weeks from March to September for the best results.

The consensus

One of the best things about Miracle-Gro is that it starts to work instantly. Many customers have reported that they have seen a noticeable improvement in their plants’ growth and appearance within just a few days of using the product— for me, it was a couple of weeks, but that was still incredible!

So, if you’re looking for a powerful and effective plant food that will help you achieve maximum growth, the Miracle-Gro LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Starter Kit is the perfect choice. With its great price, easy-to-use formula, and proven results, it’s a must-have for any gardener looking to take their plants to the next level.
